Educator Support

With Educator Support, we focus on sustainably developing capacity in all school staff and faculty so that they are able to serve as protective factors in the lives of children. We focus on providing holistic school supports that increase the self-efficacy of teachers for providing developmentally appropriate behavioral, social, and emotional support to their students. Our school partnerships are tailored for each individual school and district we work with but typically include professional development, group workshops, individual and group consulting, resources, and community engagement sessions. Our goal with school partnerships is to leave each school with effective research-supported strategies to support student and staff wellness.

Assessments

Our assessment team can conduct an investigation to determine strengths and areas of need as it relates to student wellness. The assessments typically evaluate what is currently in place to support students with behavioral, social, and emotional challenges, as well as neurodivergent students. Our assessments are typically mixed-methods, including qualitative and quantitative portions, but are uniquely tailored to meet individual school and district needs.

Professional Development

Our professional development opportunities can be anything from small, interactive workshops, to large-scale didactic presentations. The topics of our professional developments range depending on the needs of the school, but our most commonly requested sessions are Teaching with the Brain in Mind, Teaching with Stress in Mind, the Science of Learning, Self-Regulation for Neurodiverse Learners, and Practical Strategies for Regulation.

Consultation

Consultants can support partner schools in a variety of ways. They can conduct student observations and provide research-supported tier 2 interventions within existing MTSS school structures. They can support school committees, ensuring someone is advocating for students with backgrounds of stress and trauma. We can also support individual teachers with coaching. Our consultants do not come into schools with a one-size-fits-all approach but rather try to integrate themselves into the school and learn about the school culture and community before sharing helpful tools and strategies.

School-Community Support

We envision the relationship between schools and families as a true partnership and we want the strategies that are effective in an educational setting to be shared within the home setting. Our school-community support provides all families within the school or school district access to workshops on various topics relevant to parents (e.g. helping manage your child’s anxiety, step-parenting, and advocating for your child with an IEP/504 plan). Additionally, schools can opt to purchase family coaching for all the families in their community, so that schools can refer parents and families who express a desire for more supportive strategies.
